Not much has been documented about Fannie's early life. She grew up with her brother and sister in a city that was one of the largest producers of chairs and related products, such as baby carriages. She married at Gardner MA on 19 June 1892 to WALTER P. NOYES. He probably born at Toledo OH about 1 August 1870, based on his record of death, the son of Edward D. and Nellie M. (Mace) Noyes. Walter died at Philadelphia PA on 15 October 1932. He was buried at the Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Both of her nieces remember Fannie making hats during the time Walter and she lived at Glen Cove NY on Long Island. She had a large cabinet on the first landing of the stairs to store the hats she made, but it is unclear if she sold hats from her house or sold them to one or more of the hat shops in Glen Cove.
