Funeral services for Matthew John Ruhlen, 85, of 644 N. Elizabeth-st, who died at 3:15 a.m. Sunday in his residence, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Zion Lutheran church, the Rev. Maurice D. White will officiate with burial in Woodlawn cemetery.
Born Oct. 14, 1863 in Marysville, Mr. Ruhlen had lived in Lima most of his life. He was, at one time, a partner in the Ruhlen and Miller Contracting Co. He retired from the business 35 years ago. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. A.E. Harshe, Ft. Worth, Tex., Mrs. Don White, Sr., 737 N. Metcalf-st, Mrs. R.E. Riley, 644 N. Elizabeth-st, and Mrs. Lucille Jo Lewis, 722 W. Market-st; two brothers, Henry W., Route 2, and John, 1700 W. Elm-st; a sister, Miss Nettie Ruhlen, 632 N. Elizabeth-st; five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. The body will remain in the Lewis funeral home until time of services.
