Rev. Charlie J. Helton was born on March 26, 1929, in Harlan County, Kentucky, the son of the late Phil Roy and Alice Spurlock Helton. He was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Gertrude Powell Helton. He is survived by his second wife, Annalea Lynch Helton of East Bernstadt, three children, Robert Helton and wife, Rosemary, of Pittsburg, Charlie Helton, Jr. and wife, Jeannie, of London and Suzanne Woodruff and husband, Kenny, of East Bernstadt, five step-children, Conley Angel of Henderson, Eddie Angel and wife, Jamie, of Berea, Brian Angel and wife, Shannon and Tammy Angel, all of McKee, and Paula Angel of London, eight grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild and a host of step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who loved him as their own, plus other friends and relatives to mourn his passing. In addition to his parents and first wife, he is also preceded in death by two children, Jimmy Helton and wife Brenda who survives and Jean Bell, one step-daughter, Mary jean Million, and five siblings, Neal, Billy and Arnold Helton, Emma Lou Spivey and Brenda Middleton.
Charlie was a Pastor and member of River of Life Holiness Church.
Rev. Charlie J. Helton departed this life at his daughter’s home on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, being 91 years, 9 months and 3 days of age.
Funeral services for Rev. Charlie J. Helton will be conducted at 1 PM Thursday in the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with Robert Helton and Suzanne Woodruff officiating. Burial will follow in the A. R. Dyche Memorial Park in London.
The family of Rev. Charlie J. Helton will receive friends at Bowling Funeral Home from 11 AM Thursday until the funeral hour of 1 PM.
