John Daniel Falter, age 37, of Freeburg, departed this life, Monday, June 17, 2013, in the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics, Columbia, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born March 6, 1976, at Jefferson City, the son of Daniel Joseph and Linda Jean (Weber) Falter. He was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church, Freeburg. During his working life, John had been employed as an auto body technician and had owned and operated the Quality Auto Body Shop, Freeburg. John loved his daughter Shayla with all his heart. He also loved his family, friends, riding his Harley, and searching for arrowheads. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching sports on TV. We will all miss his humor, great smile, and twinkling eyes.

Those left to mourn the passing of John include: one daughter, Shayla Renae Stratman; his parents, Dan and Linda Falter, Freeburg; one sister, Sara VanderFeltz and husband, Mike, Taos; three nephews, Ryan Heckman, Kaleb VanderFeltz, and Justin VanderFeltz; one niece, Megan VanderFeltz; paternal grandparents, Lawrence and Lillian Falter, Koeltztown; and other relatives and friends. John was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John and Theola Weber.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for John at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 21, 2013, in the Holy Family Catholic Church, Freeburg, with the Rev. Phil Niekamp celebrating. Interment will be in the Holy Family Cemetery, Freeburg, under the direction of the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m., Thursday, June 20, 2013, with a Prayer Service at 3:30 p.m., and 9-10 a.m., Friday, June 21, 2013, all in the Holy Family Catholic Church, Freeburg. Memorial contributions to the Holy Family School, Freeburg, are suggested by the family with envelopes available at the Church or the Vienna Office of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes.
