He was the son of Ceasar Ferdinando Beffa (1866 - 1950) of Airolo, Switzerland and Nellie Marian Berryhill (1884 - 1966) of Ukiah, California. A sister, Helen M. Beffa, was the older of two children. At age 63 Floyd wed Dee B. Murphy, 57, in San Luis Obispo County, California March 15, 1980.
