Franklin Paschal Wright was born in Coweta, Georgia to Andrew J. Wright and Mary Duncan Wright. He was an Irish descendant. His family was living in Cullman County, Alabama when he met and married on November 8,1874, to Sarrah Frances Johns, a German descendant who still spoke German. Three times the couple left Alabama and twice returned. Once they moved to Mississippi, another time they moved to Louisiana. The third trip brought them to Texas where they finally settled at Kildare in Cass County. It was said, they moved so often, that when the wagon was loaded, the old milk cow would follow the wagon without being tied. On arriving in Texas F.P. Wright took his family out to Tarrant County and settled on Village Creek. It is said he made a good crop of cotton, but no corn, and wouldn't stay. Relatives in Cass County told him about land for sale at Kildare.

He bought 300 acres out of a 1,000 acre Moore Plantation and hope to buy more when the 300 acres was paid for, but the remainder had been sold before he had an opportunity to buy more.

In Alabama Frank owned and operated a sawmill. Here in Texas he stayed with farming, but two of his sons became sawmill owners and operators.

His wife Sarrah died in 1910, and F.P. Wright continued living in his home until health began to fail him about 1929. He stayed briefly with his son Jack and family, then stayed with Arthur Wright and family until his death.

German was spoken in the home of this couple, and the children had to learn English when they entered public school.

Franklin Paschal Wright and Sarrah Frances Johns were the parents of nine :
Odessa F.
Mary Eldora
Susan A
Henry Jackson
John W.
Avery F.
James Arthur

and Freda B.
