He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a survivor of the attack on Pearl Harbor. Carlton started a family logging company that included his father and three of his brothers. He later worked for several wood mills in central Maine and retired from Woodtek Inc., Anson, as the superintendent of maintenance. Carlton served the community of Starks in many ways and had many diverse hobbies.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Beula (Farrand) Hebert; his five children, Errol Hebert and his wife, Sun Ja, Vicki Stevens and her husband, Alan, Kerry Hebert and his wife, Jennifer, Pegeen McConnell and her husband, Malcolm "Steve" and Shawna Kelly and her husband, Hugh; 10 grandchildren, Marcia, Mark, Tracy, Edward, Joshua, Lucas, Jodianne, Jacob, Peter and Marie; as well as four great-grandchildren; and four siblings, Kenneth and Norman Hebert, Phyllis (Hebert) Daigle and Evelyn (Hebert) Lawhead. He was predeceased by five siblings, Joseph F., Richard, Edward, Doris (Hebert) Pope and Mary Hebert.
A memorial service will be arranged at a future date.
