Westdale-Janet E. Grass, 75, of Westdale passed away Friday January 11, 2013 at Rome Memorial Hospital. Janet was born September 3, 1937 in Rome a daughter of Otto and Arlene Murphy Grass. She was employed at various area factories for many years. Janet was married to Richard M. VanSteen on October 13, 1989. She enjoyed crafts, reading and playing cards, especially spending time with her family. Janet was known for being direct and to the point but will be remembered best for her generosity and always being there to lend a helping hand for anything you may have needed.
Surviving are two sons Robert W. and Emlyn Light of Sauquoit, Gary J. and Catherine Light of Weslaco, TX; five grandchildren, Robby, Shelly, Cameron, Carter and Gregory. Also surviving are many brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews.
