In "Gazetteer and Business Directory of Chittenden County, Vt. For 1882-83", Hamilton Child states Thomas Northrop came from Connecticut to Georgia, Vermont in 1817. He and Amanda Blair married on May 7, 1821 , and some time after 1830 moved to Williston, Vermont. (In 1830, he placed an advertisement in The Repertory (Saint Albans, Vermont), advising that a sorel mare, "supposed to be 6 years ole" had shown up on his property in Georgia, and asking the owner to "pay charges and take her away".)
