Death claimed a pioneer resident here last evening when Mrs. Mary Tempes Adams, 91, died at her home, 107 E. Twenty-eighth St. Mrs. Adams was born in 1846 in Missouri and the following year came west with her family across the plains in a covered wagon train to settle in St. Helens, Ore.

She was married in 1860 to Edward Francis Tempes and shortly thereafter moved to Vancouver where she had since made her home. Mr. Tempes died in 1909, and in 1924 Mrs. Tempes married to John W. Adams, who died in 1929.

Among the survivors are one son, Fred W. Tempes of Vancouver, and one grandson, Littleton Tempes of Seattle.

Funeral Services will be held Monday morning at 10 o'clock in Hamilton's chapel with the Rev. Roy Parcel officiating. Interment will be in the family plot in the Masonic section of Old City Cemetery.
