She preferred to be called, Nana. She was loved by all, Her family was her pride and joy. She was such a wonderful caring kind woman. With a genuine heart. She is loved very much and missed tremendously.

Betty Brooks was born Sept. 7, 1913 to John and Albertha Doornenbal in the Dutch Lynden WA. She grew up in a loving family and remained close to her siblings throughout her life.

She married Walcie Washington Brooks on Christmas Day in 1935. They began their married life in San Diego, where their first child Nora, was born. They returned to Washington and settled in Bremerton, where their second daughter, Linda,
was born.

Nana was always active at church, and was a founding member of Bremerton's First Presbyterian Church. She sang in the choir, taught Sunday school and loved taking part in women's fellowships and Bible studies.

Walcie passed away in 1976, and Nana continued on in Bremerton, until the age of 80 when she moved to Seattle.

She is preceded in death by her husband Walcie, her sisters Gertie and Joanne, and great-great grandchild Stephanie Scheib.
She is survived by her daughters: Nora Scheib and Linda McDonald. Grandchildren: Jason Scheib and Brooke Scheib, Traci Viklund (Anders), Grady McDonald and Jessica Smith (Brian);
and Great-GrandChildren: Haley, Zoe, Sam, Royce,
Rayasun, Nona, Eva, And Konner.
