Private graveside services for Charles R. Abela, 62, Rialto, Calif., will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Woodlawn Cemetery. Mr. Abela died in Loma Linda, Calif. He left the Bellingham area about 14 years ago. He was the owner of Abela Trucking, a member of Resurrection Catholic Church in California and a retired member of the Teamsters union. Survivors include his wife, Teresa of the family home; seven sons, Anthony of Texas, Robert Gruwell of Missouri, and Charles L., Martin L., Jeff Gruwell, Gregory Gruwell and Brian Gruwell of California; two brothers, Frank of 108 Bayside Place and Sam of California; one sister, Virginia M. Childers of Everson; 15 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
