Pat was the fourth child born to Cameron La Rue Higgins and Marian Robinson Higgins. He was special from the moment he came into the world. There were five children in the family and his one sister and two brothers all considered themselves to be closest to him.
Pat suffered from rheumatic fever when he was five and was bedridden for several weeks, during which time he received daily injections without any hesitation whatsoever.
He grew to be 6'6" tall and was an outstanding catcher in baseball. He was also very involved in FFA, showing Brangus cattle and won the Green Hand Award his freshman year in high school.
He and his brother, James Cameron Higgins (d. 1990), loved being outdoors. Pat never missed an opportunity to duck and goose hunt, but, his passion was fishing.
Pat and Jimmy started working in their father and uncles' rice fields at an early age, driving tractors and combines expertly by the time they were twelve. He was working for his father when he was killed by a repeat offender drunk driver at the too early age of 18.
He is buried next to his grandparents, Jack and Sadie Hicklin Robinson and his brother, James Cameron Higgins. Like his older brother, there is no grave marker as it still too painful for his parents to choose one.
Little brother, I know you are with God, but, I miss you as much today as I did when you left us.
