"Alma M. Deffner Alma M. Deffher, 91 years old, a former Brookville resident, died Sunday, August 30, at Hospitality Hall Nursing Center, Batesville, where she had currently resided. She was born November 15, 1908, to George and Elizabeth (Meyer) Pulskamp, in Franklin County, where she lived most of her life. On August 3, 1927, she and Alfred G. Deffner were united in marriage. Mrs. Deffner was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and worked as a homemaker. Survivors include three daughters, Patricia Naayers of Riverview, Florida, Sharon Singer of West Chester, Ohio and Vehna Dieckman of Batesville; one son, Dale Deffner of Brookville; one sister, Esther Bohland of Brookville; 16 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, who died January 22, 1998; one son, Ronald Deffner; and one infant daughter, Wilma Deffner. The funeral will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 4, at St. Michael Church, with Monsignor Louis Schumacher officiating. She will be interred in the church cemetery. Friends may call at Phillips and Meyers Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 3, between 4 and 8 p.m. A rosary service begins at 7:30 p.m. St. Michael School is accepting memorials."
