George was the son of Jacob B. Kreighbaum and Hannah Yerrick (York on marriage record), who married on 4 Mar 1831 in Stark Co., Ohio. He first appeared on the 1850 Census, living with his parents and siblings in Green, Summit Co., Ohio where George's father Jacob was farming for a living.

By the 1860 Census, the family had relocated to West Township (today part of Plymouth), Marshall, Indiana. George's father Jacob had established another farm.

On 26 Nov 1865, George married Caroline "Callie" B. McElrath in Marshall Co., Indiana. They had three children together--Florence E. (b.1867), Albert Clarence (b.1874), and Olen Percival (b.1880). I found them together on the 1870 Census, living in West Twp., where George had taken up farming as his father had. They had welcomed daugther Florence in 1867.

In 1880, George and Callie were still in West Twp. but George had given up farming and was earning a living as a house painter. He and Callie had welcomed two more children--son Albert Clarence on 26 Jul 1874, and son Olen Percival on New Years Day in 1880.

George's wife Callie died on 20 Jan 1890 at age 46. George mourned his loss for two years before marrying Mary E. Thompson (nee Markel) on 31 Jan 1892 in Marshall Co., Indiana.

George lived another 17 years before dying in 1909 at age 69 and being laid to rest at the side of his first wife Callie.
