She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, C.L. Smith of San Antonio, TX; brother, Eldon Brooks of Gainesville, TX; sister, Gladys Morgan and her parents, Cyrus David Brooks and Katy Ferrell Leatherwood Brooks all of St. Jo, TX.
Carmen is survived by her two sons: Ronald Smith and wife, Bitsy of San Antonio; James Smith and wife, June Draper of Houston; four grandchildren: Chuck Smith and wife, Melissa; Rebecca Smith, Jason Smith and wife, Jennifer all of San Antonio; Erik Smith and wife, Christina of Tacoma, Washington; eight great-grandchildren: Deborah, Sarah, Stephen, Kenny, Skyler and Shay Smith all of San Antonio and Cody and Noah Smith of Tacoma, Washington; sister-in-law, Margaret Brooks; niece, Katy Gail Simpson and husband, Steve of North Carolina; nephews: Lanny Brooks of North Carolina, Donald Kotulan and wife, Carol of Tallahassee, Florida; and Tim Kotulan of Dallas.
Carmen was a very Christian woman and a charter member of the Jefferson Church of Christ. She left a lasting impression on all those lives she touched and shared the message of Christ ~ a true lady of faith, a faith she openly shared with others ~ she will be deeply missed.
