Harry B. Burnside, 83, a retired B.F. Goodrich employee, passed away Sunday, Nov. 6, 2005.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Burnside home, Commerce, Okla.

Arrangements are under the direction of Paul Thomas Funeral Home, Miami.

Harry B. Burnside of Miami passed away Sunday, Nov. 6, 2005, at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, Mo. He was 83 years of age.

Harry was born Jan. 22, 1922, in Welch to Harrison and Briggie (Lenehan) Burnside.

He enlisted in Navy in January, 1942 and served as a gunner's mate in the Armed Guard Division during World War II.

After leaving the military, he worked briefly in the lead and zinc mines and also for the Oklahoma State Highway Department. In 1982, he retired after working 31 years for B.F. Goodrich in Miami.

In December, 1945, he married Alice Hart. She preceded him in death in August, 1963.

He is also preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.

He married Audrey Mann in May, 1965. She survives of the home.

Additional survivors include two daughters, Evelyn Munkres and husband Dave of Riverton, Kan., and Peggy Goodwin and husband Robert of Plano, Texas; five sons, Jack Mann of Texarkana, Texas, Bill Mann and wife Cassie of Baxter Springs, Kan., John Mann of Claremore, Neil Burnside and wife Julie of Commerce and Steve Mann of Pollock, La., and one sister, Margerete Kelly of Shallenberg, Texas.

He was "Pepaw" to his 16 grandchildren, Cass Rowland, Jason Rowland, Brooke Munkres, Nichole (Munkres) Wright, Alison (Mann) Brinkely, Adrian Mann, Jesse Mann, Marshall Mann, Christopher Mann, Jack Mann Jr., Jacqueline Mann, Josh Mann, Jeremy Mann, Jay Michael Mann, Ashley Burnside and Rachel Burnside. He had four great-granchildren, Brittany, Julian, Josh Jr. and Christian, soon to be joined by great-granddaughter, Audrey Brooke, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of dear friends.

Harry will also be missed by his faithful canine companion, Pete.

A private family service will be held at a later time.

The family will receive friends at the Burnside home, 56600 E. Hwy 69, east of Commerce, from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9.

Arrangements are under the direction of Paul Thomas Funeral Home of Miami.
