He was retired and was a U.S. Army veteran. Born in Scranton, he was a son of the late Robert and Altha Wall AMes. Surviving are a brother, Kenneth Ames, Florida; three half brothers and two half sisters: Ralph Findley, Landisville; John Findley, Willow Street, and Edgar Findley, Quarryville; Annie Findley, Hampton, Va., and Alma Schwebel, Elkton, Md.
