He was a retired employee for the Pa. Public Health and Employment Services; a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council 14081.
Surviving is his wife of 68 years, Louise A. (Trumpeter) Breit; his daughter, Kathleen L. Evans, of Harrisburg; his son, Thomas E. Breit, of Sarasota, Fl.; his granddaughter, Christine Harhigh, husband, Greg; 3 great-grandchildren, Derek Harhigh, Pearce Harhigh and Alyssa Harhigh; and his brother, Francis Breit, of Hershey. He was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Hirsh.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2:00 pm Friday, June 21, 2013 in Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 6150 Allentown Blvd., Harrisburg; the Rev. Edwin Quinlan will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. A visitation will be held 1:00 pm until the time of the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 6150 Allentown Blvd., Harrisburg, 17112 or to Gentiva Hospice, 4660 Trindle Rd., Suite 204, Camp Hill, 17100.
