Carmella Maria (Lucarelli) Rutkowski, age 87, of Pottstown, PA, died on Thursday, July 24, 2008 at the Pottstown Memorial Medical Center, Pottstown, PA. She was the loving wife of John F. Rutkowski. Born in the Bronx, New York City, NY, she was a daughter of the late Nicholas and Maria (Pelusi) Lucarelli.
In earlier years, Mrs. Rutkowski owned and operated Millie's Luncheonette in Boyertown, PA. She then worked as a waitress for the Limerick Diner for over 25 years. She was a member of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Church, Pottstown and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed trips to Atlantic City with her husband to play the slots and spending time with her family.
Surviving in addition to her husband is One Daughter - Mary Lou, wife of George P. Bieber, Sr. of Douglassville, PA
Three Step-sons- John E. Rutkowski of Maryland, Thomas P. Rutkowski of New York, and David M. Rutkowski of Connecticut
One Step Daughter - Alice A. Rutkowski of Georgia
One Sister - Louise Kulp, widow of George W. Kulp of Barto, PA
Two Grandchildren - George P. Bieber, Jr., husband of Elizabeth and Marcy, wife of Matthew Mancini
One Great Grandson - Jake Bieber
Three Step Grandchildren - Michael, Stephen and Christopher Rutkowski
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters and four brothers.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta, 1128 South Street, Pottstown, PA. Father Paul Brandt will officiate. Interment will be in St. Aloysius New Cemetery, Pottstown, PA. A viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday and from 9 - 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the Houck & Gofus Funeral Home, Inc., 955 N. Charlotte Street, Pottstown, PA.
