LONGTIME VA VOLUNTEER DIES

Walburg K Rondot, 93, a lifelong Fort Wayne resident who was chosen mother of the year by t=The Journal-Gazette in May 1957, died Wednesday in St Anne Home. She had resided there the past three years and had bewen in poor health the past six weeks.
Mrs. Rondot, a graduate of the Chicago School of Nursing, donated over 4,000 hours of work at the Veterans Administration Medical Center.
Surviving are five daughters, Germaine Ifrid of Detroit, Violet Reising of Indianapolis, Kate McNutt Sr and Genevieve Nagel, both of Fort Wayne, and Betty Yorks of Woodburn; seven sons, Gerald of San Diego, Calif, Frank of Angola, Richard of Castleberry, Flo, Thomas of New Haven, and Alfred, Donald and Daniel, all of Fort Wayne; and a brother, Robert Getty Sr of Fort Wayne.
Services will be Friday in Mungovan & Sons Memorial Chapel and in St Peter's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery. Preferred memorials are gifts to St Anne Home.
