Mother of Bobbie M. Fields
Grace Warman Miller, 92, of Hixson, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002, at her home.
She was born in McCreary County, Ky., on Jan. 20, 1910, the daughter of Jane Gholdson and Henry Warman.
Mrs. Miller was retired from the United States Postal Service. She was last postmistress at Greenwood, Ky. The Postal Service closed the facility upon her retirement.
She is survived by her husband, Richard E. Miller; two daughters, Bobbie M. Fields and her husband, Theodore, of Oak Ridge, and Uma Ann Clark and herhusband, Oral, of Hixson; two grandsons, Richard E. Fields and his wife, Ginger Cunningham, of Knoxville, and Daniel Clark and his wife, Donna McAbee, of Hixson; and four granddaughters, Ramona Clark Sumner, Corajane Fields and her husband, Robert W. Melton, of Travelers Rest, S.C., Grace-Ann Fields and her husband, James H. Cannon, of Maryville, and Mary Ellen Fields and her husband, James T. Dover, of Simpsonville, S.C.
Mrs. Miller is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren, Thera Sumner, Micah Sumner and Isaac Sumner, all of Chattanooga, Richard Clark and GrantClark, both of Hixson, Benjamin Edward Fields and Amos Gray Fields, all of Knoxville, Kelly Ann Melton of Travelers Rest and Teresa Fay Dover and Julia Kay Dover, both of Simpsonville; two sisters, Evelyn Sumner of Louisville, Ky., and Elizabeth Worley of Greenwood; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, in the chapel of Williamson and Sons Funeral Home, 8852 Dayton Boulevard in Soddy-Daisy, with the Rev. James Henley officiating.
Burial will be at Chattanooga Memorial Gardens in Red Bank.
The family requests that any memorials be in the form of donations to Adventa Hospice, 5959 Shallowford Road, Building 500A, Suite 505, Chattanooga, TN 37421.
