Jane Workman Bodron Buckner died at her home Tuesday, May 2, 2006. She was 72.

Mrs. Buckner was born in Russelville, Ark., to William and Estelle Martin Workman and was reared in Tallulah, LA.

Mr.s Buckner was a graduate of All Saints Episcopal School and Smith College, where she received a bachelor's degree in music and religion.

She was a retired teacher at Carr Central Junior High School and All Saints' Episcopal School. She also previously taught piano lessons in her home and owned and operated Hers Ltd. dress shop.

Mrs. Buckner was member of Christ Episcopal Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Buckner was preceded in death by her husband, former Sen Ellis B. Bodron.

She is survived by her husband, William Ellis Buckner of Tallulah, LA ; a daughter, Helen Estelle Bodron of Washington, D.C.; and a son, Lawrence Ellis Bodron of Vicksburg, many nieces, nephews and other family members.

Services will be at 2:30 PM Sunday at Riles Funeral Home. Vistation will be from 2 PM until the funeral procession departs at 2:30 Pm for the Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah, where the Rev. Bill Echols pastor of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Tallulah, will officate.

Pallbearers will be John Collins, Stan Collins, Bill Collins, Bobby Greelee, Ollie Mohammed and David May.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Pearson, Paul Hogue, Marvin Krinsky and Harry Sharp.

Memorials may be made to the Mississippi School for the Blind, 1252 Eastover Drive, Jackson, MS 39211.
