John Wayne Jones, 62, of Blanchard, Oklahoma, passed away April 14, 2013. He was born April 27, 1950, to James and Loretta Jones in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. John enjoyed listening to music. His favorite was classic rock and the blues. John's favorite shows were the Antique Road Show, Pawn Stars, No Reservation and Bazaar Foods. He loved to play poker, chess and dominos. John loved his mother's cooking, especially her fried chicken. He also enjoyed playing Tiger Woods golf game. John loved babies and thought someone in the family should bring a new baby in the family every 9 months. John loved gambling and going to the casino. He was a major conversationalist and loved to carry on a conversation. John was deeply spiritual and also had to make sure you knew about it. He was a very loving, caring, tender hearted and open minded man. John taught his children to be that way also, he said it was okay to be different and to just be yourself; if people didn't like it, "Oh Well"!

John heard his country's call and proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He served 2 tours in Vietnam. John received an honorable discharge for services rendered to his country, when he was called upon to do so.

John's first love was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Jones of the home; 5 children, Joshua Jones of the home, Amanda Rose and husband Tech. Sgt. Jerry of Lackland AFB in San Antonio, Texas, Melissa Diane Jones of Bethany, Oklahoma, Misty Davis and husband Ray Prescott of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Bobby Davis and wife Victoria Hall of Midwest City, Oklahoma; 9 grandchildren, Candace Elizabeth, Hope Rose, Kaylee Diane Rose of Lackland AFB, San Antonio, Texas, Kayleen Nicole Prescott and Tessa Richelle Prescott of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Gabrielle Hall, Bobby Ray Davis, McKayla Davis, Erica Davis, Trent Davis all of Midwest City; mother, Loretta Plumlee of Tuttle, Oklahoma; his other 4 legged babies, Sis, Bitty Baby and Willie; 3 special aunts, Verla Berryman and husband Duane of Moore, Rita Harrison, of Harrah & Donna Rose of Bethany; his favorite cousin, Lady Godiva cousin and partner in crime ~ Barbie Mashore, of Tuttle; and a host of other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving family members and friends.

John was preceded in death by his step-father, Louis E. Plumlee, a sister, Belinda Belle (Jones) McKinney, and brother, Timothy Louis Plumlee.

Services will be he held 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 17, 2013, at John M. Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel, Moore, Oklahoma. Interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, Oklahoma.
