Helen Neal Nichols, 71, of Fenwick, Nicholas County, died Sept. 8, 1997, in Columbia Allegheny Regional Hospital, Low Moor, Va., after a long illnes. She was a homemaker, a member of Prosperity Baptist Church, Prosperity, and Fenwick Homemakers Club and was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, Beckley, WV. Surviving: husband, Ralph "Red" Nichols; son, Allan Mason Nichols of Fenwick; daughters, Drema Faye Gantley of Virginia Beach, Va., Jennifer Adair Fielder of Hudson, N.Y.; sisters, Demma Jean Whiting of Piney View, Carol Sue Scherf of Harriman, Tenn.; brother, Harry Anderson Neal of Beckley; two grandchildren. Service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Simons-Coleman Funeral Home, Richwood, with the Rev. Jarrold Lanham officiating. Burial will be in West Virginia Memorial Gardens, Calvin, VA. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
