COLUMBUS, KANSAS: Mildred M Duckett, age 94, passed away at 4:40 pm Friday June 14, 2013.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 am, Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Derfelt Funeral Home, Columbus, KS. Graveside services are 11am Monday, June 24, 2013 at Los Gatos Memorial Park 2255 Los Gatos-Almaden Road San Jose, California.

COLUMBUS, KANSAS: Mildred M Duckett, age 94, passed away at 4:40 pm Friday June 14, 2013 at Medicalodge of Columbus following an illness.
Mildred was born February 26, 1919 in Columbus, KS. Her parents were Howard G and Bessie Pearl (Owens) Haynes. She was a 16th generation descendant from Prince of Powys (who reigned in Shropshire England in 600 A.D.) She returned to Columbus in 2001 moving from the State of California.
She worked in Office Management spending a length of time at Boeing Aircraft Co. She attended the Christian Church. Her activities included TOPS, and she had been a den mother for her son's Cub Scout Den several years ago. She enjoyed going to Buffalo Run and Quapaw Casinos where she had made several friends there. She loved music and could actually play the violin, accordion, piano, organ She could recite poems and stories she learned while in school. She enjoyed singing, dancing, and crocheting.
Mildred married John Samuel Duckett on August 23, 1946. He passed away November 19, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her son, Vaughn Howard Duckett and four sisters, Bessie, Goldie Ellen, Mary, and Flossie.
Surviving is one granddaughter, Holly (and husband, Michael) Dainton, Hamilton, Ohio; two great-grandchildren, Alex, and Camille; her caregiver, Ann Kress; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 am, Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Derfelt Funeral Home, Columbus, KS. Tom Goettel will officiate. Burial will be in a cemetery in Los Gatos, California at a later date.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at the funeral home.
