Ruth Ann Atkinson

Ruth Ann Atkinson, age 69, of Kingdom City, Missouri went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday June 17, 2013.
Ruth Ann was born November 29, 1943 in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of the late Don G. Fike and the late Margaret (Peterson) Fike. Ruth was was united in marriage to Terry Atkinson, who survived her passing.
In addition to her husband, Ruthie will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by two sons, Jeff Atkinson and wife Victoria of Charlotte, North Carolina and Doug Atkinson (Lisa) of Osage Beach, Missouri; one daughter, Angel Atkinson of Kingdom City, Missouri; two grandchildren, Tori Atkinson and Dylan Hubler.
In addition to her parents, Ruthie was preceded in death by one brother, Doug Fike and one sister, Helen Sue Williams.
Ruthie attended Faith Baptist Church in Columbia, Missouri. She was the church choir director for many years at Richland Baptist Church in Kingdom City, Missouri. Ruthie was also active in children and youth ministries, including the Richland Rhythmic's. She was a source of encouragement to her family and many others through leading small groups Bible Studies. Ruthie delighted in encouraging fellow believers to memorize God's Word. A favorite verse of hers was Ephesians 2;8-9. "For by grace are ye saved through faith", and that not of yourselves. it is a gift of God not of works, lest any man should boast.
Funeral services will be 10:00a.m. on Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at Richland Baptist Church in Kingdom City with Brother Ed Love officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00p.m. on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton. Interment will be held at Richland Baptist Church Cemetery in Kingdom City.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gideons (international or the Institute in Basic Life Principles(an international ministry offering hope to families) c/o Maupin Funeral Home 301 Douglas Blvd. Fulton Mo. 65251
