Mrs. Fannin was born on June 21, 1924 in Pike County, daughter of the late Walter Kersey and the late Mary Murdock Kersey.
She graduated from Toccoa Bible College Business School as valedictorian. She was a retired bookkeeper and homemaker. Mrs. Fannin was an active pastor's wife and Sunday School teacher for 44 years at the 11 United Methodist Church's that Rev. Fannin pastored. She was a member of the Rockmart First United Methodist Church and active in the Methodist Missionary Society.
Mrs. Fannin was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Joan Fannin Cash; a son, Mr. Walter Thomas (Tommy) Fannin; and a sister, Mrs. Dorothy Kersey Nelson.
Survivors include her husband of 69 years & 11 1/2 months, Rev. Burch Fannin, Sr. of Rockmart; daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Jimmy Lester of Rockmart; son & daughter-in-law, Rev. Burch & Trecia Fannin, Jr. of Cartersville; eleven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson also survives.
Funeral services for Mrs. Fannin will be held on Wednesday, June 19th at 11:00 a.m. in the Rockmart First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jeanette Dickens and Rev. David Autry officiating.
Interment services will follow at 4:00 p.m. in the family lot of the Flippen United Methodist Church Cemetery, 3707 Jodeco Rd., McDonough, GA 30253. Mrs. Fannin will lie in state at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
The family will receive friends at the Rockmart First United Methodist Church on Tuesday evening, June 18th between the hours of 5 and 8 p.m. Floral donations will be accepted or those wishing to do so, may make contributions to the United Methodist Children's Home, 500 S. Columbia Dr., Decatur GA 30030 or to the Rockmart First United Methodist Church, Fannin Carillon Fund, P. O. Box 152, Rockmart, GA 30153 in memory of Mrs. Fannin .
