Fort Myers News-Press, February 26, 2012 - Girtha L. Summerall, 87, of North Fort Myers, passed away Friday, February 24, 2012. She was born September 15, 1924 in Columbus, GA and has been a lifelong Lee County resident. She was a member of the American Business Womens Association. Mrs. Summerall leaves to cherish her memory, her children: Jim Summerall (Nancy) of North Fort Myers and Don L. Summerall (Linda) of Buckingham; her grandchildren: Joel, Shawn and Patrick; her great grandchildren: Amanda, Matt, Michael, Jimmie, Nick, Kaitlyn, Shelby, Kasidy, Shade and Payton and one great, great grandson, Wyatt. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Sterling J. Summerall in 1970 and a grandson, James Christian Summerall in 2001. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with burial to follow in Fort Myers City Cemetery. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of the service.
