He was born July 27, 1930, in Alamo, Tenn., and graduated from Crockett County High School. He worked at Lorain Ford more than 30 years.
Billy was an avid member of Norwalk Church of Christ. In his younger years he enjoyed coon hunting. Billy was a devoted father and family man who loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Brenda (Phil) Grant, of Sandusky, Sheila (Phil) Burns, of Vermilion, Carol Kowalski, of Arizona, and Paula (Ronald) Wicker, of Huron; a brother, Ernest "Bud" Connell, of Tennessee; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances; his second wife, Norma Jean; his parents, Lyman and Hazel (Walker) Connell; and a sister, Betty.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Friday, June 21, at Morman-Hinman-Tanner Funeral Home, 38 South St., Berlin Heights, and from 9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 22, until services at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Mark Lawson will officiate. Burial will follow at Scott Cemetery.
