Gerald S Higgins, Visitation Tonight

Gerald S. Higgins, 84, passed away Monday, April 15, 1996, in Dallas after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Higgins was born April 5, 1912, in Maypearl, to Sam and Eunice Kees Higgins. He served in the U.S. Marines Corps in the Pacific Theatre in WW II.
He was a former deputy sheriff of Ellis County before moving to Dallas in 1957. He them served 21 years as deputy constable of Dallas County for T.A. Vines.
He is a member of the Methodist Church and a Mason.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Reed Higgins of Dallas, one son, Reed Higgins and daughter-in-law, Karen, of Duncanville; one daughter, Robin Dingmon and son-in-law, Dennis, of Denver, Colo.; two grandchildren; one brother, Kees Higgins of DeSoto; one sister, Mrs. James H. Lewis of Waxahachie; and several nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother and two brothers.
Visitation will be held tonight, April 16, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., at Lamar and Smith Funeral Home, 800 W. Jefferson, Dallas.
Graveside services will be at Laurel Land Memorial Park, at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 17.
