HARVEY HANSON FUNERAL TODAY

Harvey Hanson died Monday morning at the home of his mother, Mrs. Mary M. Hansen. For several years he had waged a losing fight against tuberculosis, contracted, it is believed, during the war in which he was enlisted. During the past weeks he had been reconciled to his fate and the end found him glad and ready to answer the final summons.

Funeral service will be held in the Immanuel church this (Thursday) afternoon.

OBITUARY

Harvey Arthur Hansen was born in Story City, Iowa, on April 30, 1896, and died June 29, 1925 at the age of 29 years and two months. The deceased was well known in this community having attended the local schools and grown to manhood here. He graduated from the Story City High School in 1914. He lived here until he entered the service in the World War. His enlistment in the navy dated from June 19, 1918 to June 20, 1919. He was located most of the time at Hampton Road, Virginia, attained the rank of quartermaster and sailed on one trip to the Azores Islands.

During his service in the navy he had an attack of influenza. Shortly after his discharge from the service he suffered a severe case of pleurisy. Having apparently recovered from this attack, he entered Vocational Training at Iowa State College, Ames, Iowa. After a brief term at Ames, he had another breakdown an after a medical examination at St. Louis, his case was diagnosed as active tuberculosis, chronic pleurisy and chronic peritonitis and he was sent to Fitzsimons General Hospital, Colorado for treatment.

After two years in the west he returned to his home in Iowa, and has made his home with is mother during the past two years. It was a great comfort to the departed that he could spend his last days in the presence of his mother and home folks.

The departed leaves to mourn his death his mother, Mrs. Mary M. Hansen, two brothers, Sam and Luther, and three sisters, Mildred, Mrs. Mable Kasberg of Ironwood, Mich., and Mrs. Lila Lund, of London, Minn., besides a host of other relatives and friends.

The departed young man was not reluctant to leave this earth and he said repeatedly that he knew there was a place prepared for him in Heaven. The sorrowing family look forward to the day when all shall meet again in a bright and glorious Eternity.

Son of Olai B. Hansen and Mary Marvick.
