Mabel Rose Palmer Smith, age 89, of Knoxville, passed away on Friday, June 14th, 2013. She was a graduate of Carson-Newman College, taught kindergarten at Trinity United Methodist Church, was a longtime member of Central Baptist of Bearden, current member of Cumberland Baptist Church, and a faithful servant of the Lord.

Mrs. Smith is preceded death by her loving husband of 43 years, Wray Smith, parents, Harvey and Bessie Fawver Palmer, and brother, H.M. Palmer.

She is survived by her children, Pamela Meadows, Darrell Smith , and wife Cindy, and Don Smith, and wife Mary Ann, grandchildren, Dr. Leanne Kersey, James McGinnis, Amy DiFranco, Andrew Smith, Rachel Smith, Michelle Smith, and Anna Rose Smith, great-grandchildren, Will, Emily and Parker Kersey, Scarlett DiFranco, Liam McGinnis, and sister, Edna Cate.

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 17th, 2013 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Highland Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m. with Dr. Robert Brown officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to: Camp Ba Yo Ca, 2320 Happy Hollow Road, Sevierville, TN, 37862.
