R. Cecil Allen, Sr., Local Insurance Agent, Buried Here Tuesday Afternoon --
Funeral services for R. Cecil Allen, Sr., 69, who died Monday morning in the Lincoln County Hosptial, were conducted Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock at Ralston Chapel with Eugene Peden and Dr. Wayne Wiman officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Allen was born in Petersburg and was a son of the late Thomas Vann and Daisey Rankin Allen. He was a member of the Washington Street Church of Christ.
He was a part-owner of the Shelbyville Coca-Cola Bottling Company. He and his son, R. C. Allen, Jr., also owned and operated the Allen Insurance Agency in Fayetteville.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, was a charter member of the Elks Lodge, and was a charter member of the Fayetteville Golf and Country Club.
He is survived by his wife, the former Lucille Parks; one son, Robert C. Allen, Jr.; one brother, Thomas R. Allen of Atlanta; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
