The son of Louis Mueller and Barbara Hauser. The 6th of 11 children. Older brother of my great grandmother Anna Mueller Barker. John Mueller was a patrolman and later a detective in the Akron, Ohio police force. His career spanned 25 years, starting on Jan. 2, 1911 and ending Jan. 2, 1936. During his career, he was shot and critically wounded twice, first in 1920 and again in 1932. The second shooting left him with injuries that led to his retirement. He and his wife Carrie Werne had one daughter, Grace. He also had two grandchildren, John and Sally Lou Schneider. His father Louis was also an Akron police officer. Many of John's immediate family are buried in Mount Peace Cemetery.
