FREEPORT -- Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart catholic Church for Henry D. Vogel, 82, who died Thursday at his home.
The Rev. Romuald Bloms will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call after 3:30 p.m. today at Schad Funeral Home. Freeport Senior Citizens will pray at 4 p.m. today at the funeral home in Freeport followed by Sacred Heart Society at 7:30. Parish prayers at 8:30 and Albany Council Knights of Columbus and Albany St. Joseph Society at 9.
Mr. Vogel was born June 20, 1901, in Melrose to the late John H. and Anna (Nett) Vogel. He married Mary Ann Beuning on Oct 10, 1927 in Freeport and was formerly employed by U.S. Steel in Duluth and as a foreman by Swift and Co. in South St. Paul before serving as a houseman at Railway Express Agency in St. Paul from 1944 until her retirement in 1966. He had been a Freeport resident for the past 14 years where he was a member of sacred Heart Society and Parish. Central Minnesota Wood Carvers Association, Albany Council Knight of Columbus and 50-year member St. Joseph Society.
Survivors include his wife; sons and daughters, Bernard, Roseville; John, Hermantown; James and Thomas, West St. Paul; Mrs. Glen (Betty) Wilwerding, Freeport; Mrs. Simon (Mary) Hellermann, Melrose; Mrs. Dean (Rita) Nelson, Cedar; and 42 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by seven brothers and three sisters.
