Arthur Marion Smith was an apostle and secretary for the Church of Christ Temple Lot. He also served several missions for the Temple Lot Church, including the United States and Wales. He married Estella Danielson 15 Jun 1904. His early adult life included many adventures such as homesteading in Colorado, working on the Alaskan highway, a street conductor in Kansas City, and he was a bookbinder working at the Herald Press in Independence, MO. His wife Estella died 23 Jun 1916. Through their union there was born six children; Virl, Carl, Alexander, Kenneth, Beth, and Arthur. Arthur Marion then married Minerva Catherine Smith (Of a completely different Smith line out of Indiana). She was better known as Minnie. To this union was born five children; Georgia, Lorraine, Myrl, Barbara and Joseph. Arthur spent his whole life devoted to the work of the Lord. He died March 6, 1965 just after having corralled some hogs into the pen on their farm. He came indoors and asked for my mother to bring him some coffee and then he sat down. When she brought the coffee in he had passed away, as if he had simply gone to sleep. He was a good man who loved his fellow human beings and loved the Lord with all of his heart.
