Born in Allentown he was a son of the late Charles G. and Anna (Horn) Albert.

He was the husband of Pauline H. (Mayer) Albert of N. Catasauqua.

Charlie was a graduate of Central Catholic High School.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II serving aboard the U.S.S. Benner.

Charlie was the owner of Albert Bros. Florist from 1949-1990.

Charles was a member of St. Lawrence the Martyr Catholic Church of North Catasauqua and its Holy Name Society.

He was also a past president and member of the Lehigh Valley Florist Association.

He was involved in Boy Scouts for 46 years. He was a former Cubmaster of Pack 51 of Catasauqua and presently serving as Committee Chariman of Troop 51 and Cub Pack 51. He received the District Award of Merit in 1974, the Bishops Award in Catholic Scouting in 1979 and the Silver Beaver Award in 1985.

Charlie was a past director of the Suburban North YMCA. A past commander and member of the Catasauqua American Legion Post 215 and a member of their Memorial Squad.

He was a recipient of the Golden Deeds Award from the Catasauqua Exchange Club in 1991, the Volunteer of the Year award from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in 1996, and the Legion of Honor Award from the Chapel of Four Chaplains.

Charlie was a member of the Honorary First Defenders-Allentown Chapter; Catholic War Vets Post 454 of Northampton; Knights of Columbus-Queenship of Mary Council #4050 of Northampton; Men of Malvern; Coplay Saengerbund and St. Andrews Young at Heart.

He collected over 2000 rosaries for the Arch Diocese of the Military Services.

Charlie was also an avid gardener.
