ALLEN, Glendon Lloyd - 55, Cedar Lake, Digby Co., died September 6, 2004. Born in Kemptville, Yarmouth Co., he was a son of Lloyd and Ora (Ring) Allen, Lake George, Yarmouth Co. Glendon served 20 years as an officer in the RCMP. In 1991, he returned to Yarmouth where he owned and operated the Hobby Stop with his wife, Elaine for the past 11 years. Glen was an avid biker, was instrumental in the organization of the Southwest Bikers Association, serving as its first president. He was a member of the Roarin' Twenties Antique Car Club, the Blue Knights Motorcycle Club as well as a lifetime member of the Optimist Club. He was active in various charities and one who was always there to give a helping hand. He will be sadly missed and remembered by all who knew him. He was predeceased by twin brothers, Timmy and Tommy, and daughter, Karen in infancy. The body is resting in Sweeny's Funeral Home in Yarmouth. Visiting hours will be today 2-4, 7-9 p.m. in Sweeny's Funeral Home. Funeral service at 2 p.m. Friday, in Beacon United Church, Yarmouth, Rev. A.D. "Bill" Newell officiating. Burial at a later date in Lake George Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations to IWK Health Centre Foundation.
