Here lies inter'd the Remains of
Abel Lawrence Esq-r, fon of ye late Col.
Wm. Lawrence & Sufanna his wife
Being formed by ye God of ye Spirits of all
flefh with Superiour intallectual abilities
he was Called forth in Early life to the
mannagement of publick buffinefs, and
acquitted himfelf with honour, he was
for Several years a member of ye General
Court, a Juftice of ye peace, he was affable
in his Difpofition when he faw any in
Diftrefs he felt for them & was ready to
Releive them to the utmoft of his power.
Beleiving a ftate of immortality, he endav-
oured to fecure happinefs therein, by the
Exercife of Repentance towards God & faith
in Chrift after patiently Endureing a long
and diftreffing illnefs, he fubmitted to
the Stroke of all Conquering death
on the 20th of September D 1770
