Virgil completed two tours of service in the Air Force, the 1st tour during the Korean War and then he reenlisted for a second tour a couple years after that. He was a radioman, flying in a B29 Sqaudron.
After service, Virgil pursued his education co-oping with Texaco Oil Company becoming a Geologist in their Houston Headquarters.
Virgil married late in life at 57 yrs old on 4 Dec 1989, to Shelby Ann Lupton, most likely in Houston, TX, then moved to a retirement estate in Coweta, Wagoner, OK. Vigil and Shelby had no children together.
It was a shock to the entire family when Virgil was tragically killed while operating his tractor on his property about 15 Jul 2008. Shelby, his wife, suffering from cancer, died one month later.
Virgil was known to be a quiet peaceful individual who loved to raise Alaskan Malamutes at his estate in Coweta.
