Baldwin Glenn Bender, 19, 416 B Street, Galt, became the 102nd person to die as a result of highway accidents in San Joaquin County thus far this year, when he reportedly walked in front of as automobile on highway 99 Saturday night.

Mr. Bender was a native of Fredonia, North Dakota, where he was born April 15, 1927. He had been serving in the merchant marine and currently was visiting his parents, residents of the Galt district for the past three months, between voyages.

He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gustav Bender, his brother, Wilbur Bender, and two sisters, Lenora Bender and Barona Bender, all of Galt. In addition he leaves a number of aunts and uncles both in Lodi and North Dakota.

Funeral arrangements are pending at the Lodi Funeral Home awaiting the arrival of relatives.

The funeral of Baldwin G Bender of Galt will take place on Thursday at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church in Lodi with the pastor, Rev. A. S. Felberg officiating. Interment will be made in Lodi Cemetery under the direction of the Lodi Funeral Home.
