WINSTON CHURCHILL GOWDY, 81, of Memphis, retired bus driver for MATA after 35 years, died Sunday at Saint Francis Hospital after a heart attack. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Forest Hill Funeral Home East with burial in Forest Hill Cemetery East.

He was a World War II Army veteran, a member of Normal Masonic Lodge for more than 50 years, and a member of Audubon Park Baptist Church.

Mr. Gowdy, the husband of Frances Rumley Gowdy for 48 years, also leaves a sister, Mary Moina Wilson, and two brothers, W. P. Gowdy of Tupelo, Miss.,and J. F. Gowdy of Memphis. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Audubon Park Baptist Church or Le Bonheur Children's Medical Center.
