She was born in Tremont, IL, January 25, 1924 and has been a resident of Mansfield for the past 38 years.
Mrs. Heckel was employed as secretary in the purchasing department of Westinghouse Electric Corp.. She was an active member of the First Christian Church, Christian Women's Fellowship and served as a Gray Lady at General Hopsital.
Surviving are her husband, William D. Heckel; one daughter, Sharon Ruth Heckel of Cleveland; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Silas Getz; a brother, Glenn E. Getz and a sister, Miss Verla M. Getz, all of Mansfield.
Funeral services will be conducted at Finefrock Funeral Home by Rev. William C. Newman, pastor of her church.
The family desires that memorial expressions be sent to the Mansfield Cancer Foundation.
