When such a woman as Mrs. Nettie Black is called from life where every duty was fulfilled, we can think of no cause for such an occurrence. She was a wife, mother, friend, neighbor, and Christian. We can only think that God grew impatient to place the crown upon her so that was she could listen to the bells of the Holy City.
She came among us as a blooming girl. We spent happy hours of mirth, recreation, and pleasant chat. We exchanged the hopes and aims of life. Not long ago, we buried her, and above all, I remember her character and the beauty of self-sacrifice.
