Mr. Vernon Romley Absher, age 45, of Millers Creek died Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
Funeral services will be held 11:00, Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Cane Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. David Wellborn officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 Friday night.
Mr. Absher was born in Iredell County, September 29, 1967, to Olen Deford and Catherine Lorene Watkins Absher. He was a member of Cane Creek Baptist Church.
Mr. Absher is preceded in death by his father, Olen Absher.
Mr. Absher is survived by one daughter, Tiffany Absher of North Wilkesboro; one son, Derek Absher of North Wilkesboro; his mother, Catherine Lorene Watkins Absher of Millers Creek; four sisters, Patricia Campbell and husband, Charlie of Grassy Creek, Teresa Lane and husband, Rigo of North Wilkesboro, Janet Garrison and husband, Randy of North Wilkesboro, Rebecca Lenderman and husband, Jeff of North Wilkesboro; three brothers, Ray Absher and wife, Teresa of North Wilkesboro, Olen Absher, Jr. and wife, Shirley of Statesville, Ricky Absher and wife, Tammy of Millers Creek; two grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Lenderman, Andrew Absher, Dusty Absher, Chad Shumate, Shawn Garrison, Ricky Absher, Ronnie Lane, Thomas Bowlin.
