Joseph Henry Butler was one of the pioneering residents of Hazel Dell township in Crescent, Pottawattamie Co., Iowa. He married Mary Catherine McMullen on 2 June 1870. Mr. Butler served in the Civil War with the 46th Pennsylvania Infantry. Entered 3 March 1864 and was seperated 16 July 1865.
