HIGH POINT — Patty Jane Fesmire Vernon, 77, of High Point, N.C., went to live with Jesus on Wednesday, June 12, 2013. She walked with the LORD all her life and today she gets to do it in person.
Patty was born Oct. 1, 1935, in Ramseur, N.C., to Elmer and Dorothy Fesmire. She was employed most recently as the secretary of her beloved church, Greenwood Hills Wesleyan. She was retired from the High Point Fire Department as the fire chief's secretary.
She is survived by a son Mark Vernon; daughter Vanessa Vernon Slack; grandsons Justin Slack (Lauren Coltrain Slack), Thomas Vernon and Joshua Vernon; granddaughter Laura Slack; great-grandsons Colton and Turner Slack; brother Gail Fesmire (Linda); nephew Shannon Fesmire (Dawn), great-nephew Jake Fesmire; great-niece Madelyn Fesmire; and all "HER" firemen. She was preceded in death by daughter Connie Jane Vernon.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 15, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Greenwood Hills Wesleyan Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, and other times at the daughter's home.
