Myrna Lee Behmlander, 62, of Midland, died Monday, March 31, 1997 at her home. She was born on March 6, 1935 in Midland, daughter of Kathleen (Woodrow) Sweebe and the late Harry Sweebe, Sr. She attended the Midland High School in 1952. The former Myrna Sweebe married Raymond Behmlander on July 11, 1964 in Midland. She had worked as a volunteer with the Family Independent Agency of Midland for nine years and had enjoyed playing Yahtzee, watching Jeopardy, and fishing. Her true enjoyment was spending time with her loving family.
Surviving besides her husband Ray, and her mother Kathleen, are her children and their spouses, John A. Behmlander at home, Steven M. and LeeAnn Behmlander, Ann M. and Dwayne Fath, all of Midland; four grandchildren, Lacey and Mattie Behmlander, and Emily and Stephanie Fath; one brother Harry & Carol Sweebe Jr. of Midland, Alice Miehke of Midland, Bonnie Frick of Midland, Helen Sweebe of Ohio, and Elizabeth and Lee Stafford of Georgia. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Mary Behmlander of Auburn. She was predeceased by a sister Harriett Sweebe. Funeral Services for Myrna will take place at 2 p.m. Friday, April 4, 1997 from the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Chapel, 1200 West Wheeler Street. Rev. Mel Hunt will officiate with burial in Homer Township Cemetery. Myrna's family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 6-8 p.m., Thursday from 1-4 & 6-8, and on Friday from 1p.m. until time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the American Heart Association or donor's favorite charity.
