Jerry was the son of Russell Elias Shrimplin & Nellie Margery Sheldon. He had at least eight surviving siblings. He first married Patricia Daliere on 06 Aug 1949 in Greenup, KY, and they divorced in Aug 1951. They had one child, Kathy Lee Shrimplin (married Richard L. Woolison).
Jerry then married Mollie Lorene Brown on 30 Mar 1956, and they had three children, Jacqueline Rene Shrimplin (m. Scott Black), Jeffrey Eugene Shrimplin (m. Gina Garry), and a stillborn daughter (d. 1957).
Jerry worked 33 years for Cooper Energy Service and was an original board member of the Mount Vernon Lions. He died of cancer.
